खेल प्रतियोगिता का शुभारंभ जन संचार विभाग के अध्यक्ष डा. संतोष गौतम, डा. दीपशिखा सक्सेना, डा. सिद्धार्थ जैन ने किया। डा. संतोष गौतम ने हॉकी के जादूगर मेजर ध्यानचंद के जीवन पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि जर्मन तानाशाह हिटलर ने मेजर ध्यानचंद को अपनी सेना में उच्चपद देने का प्रस्ताव दिया था, लेकिन मेजर ने हिटलर के प्रस्ताव को ठुकराकर अपने देश के लिए ही खेलना स्वीकार किया। एनएसएस के अधिकारी प्रो. सिद्धार्थ जैन ने कहा कि सरकार के निर्देश पर खेलों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस मनाया जाता है। डा. दीपशिखा सक्सेना ने कहा कि खिलाड़ियों को खेल सिर्फ खेल भावना के साथ खेलना चाहिए, इसमें जीत और हार मायने नहीं रखती है। रस्सा खेंच प्रतियोगिता बालक व बालिका वर्ग में आईईआर की टीम प्रथम, बीसीए व आईएएस की टीम द्वितीय स्थान पर रही। टेवल टेनिस में अभिनव, आर्यन, अनुज ने क्रमशः स्थान प्राप्त किया। निर्णायक डा. शिव कुमार रहे। इस अवसर पर डा. यतेंद्रपाल, डा. संजय पाल, डा. अनुराधा यादव, डा. रामकुमार पाठक, डा. कविता शर्मा आदि उपस्थित थे।
